  • ANote Music, an advanced royalty exchange that uses block-chain to manage data, is a platform dedicated to trading royalties generated from "music" as the name suggests.

The platform has a marketplace where catalogs are listed, and investors can check the details before investing.

The market is divided into "primary" and "secondary" markets. The catalogs are first listed by the rights holders on the primary market, where the price is determined by the order price of many investors (users), and the transaction is closed. The catalog then moves to the secondary market, where investors buy and sell amongst each other. Since the company is located in Luxembourg, the catalogs listed are European, but the content varies considerably.

The number of songs can range from a few dozen to over 20,000, and the basis for royalties can vary from performance rights to publishing rights to producer royalties.

  • STEPS

    1

    Temporary Registration

Once you have registered your e-mail address and password, you will be able to login and view the basic pages of the site. However, at this stage, you cannot invest in a catalog yet.

    2

    Registration

Complete registration (free of charge) will allow you to invest in a catalog. Please enter your name and other personal information. You will be asked to upload your passport and ID card separately, but since ID cards are not common in Japan, you can just upload the same passport image. A window will open with various questions, but if you are unsure, you can check all the boxes and move on. For banks, please check the SWIFT code and enter it.

    3

    Deposits

Once you have registered, your eWallet will be opened automatically. Use your credit card to make a pre-deposit of the amount you wish to invest in your eWallet. You will then be able to invest in catalogs up to your eWallet limit. You can also make a deposit from your bank account.

    4

    Order

Select the catalog you want to invest in, open the detail page, and click the "BUY" button to open the order screen. Specify the "Desired Amount" and "Number of Units" with reference to the latest trading price, and place your order.

Your order is now complete. You will receive an email, and when you go to the "PORTFOLIO" tab and look at "MY PORTFOLIO", you will see if your order has been accepted.

    5

    Execution (contract)

For the primary market, you will receive an e-mail when the order price is available after the bidding period is over, then you may receive an offer (contract). Here, you will receive an email when the stock is available for purchase at the order price.

In the secondary market, you will receive an e-mail when an order to sell is placed at your order price, and then the order will be executed.

To sell in the secondary market, click on the "SELL" button and place an order specifying the desired amount and number of units, which will be executed when a buy order with the same conditions is placed. Of course, you can also buy more.

    6

    Withdrawal

The money pooled in the eWallet can be withdrawn freely at any time. Withdrawals will be transferred to your registered bank account (fees will apply). Click on the profile icon in the upper right corner and select "add/withdraw" from the drop-down menu, then select "withdraw" and "confirm" to complete the process.
